Okay, it was more of a see-through dome than a “bar” but the punchline is the same. We found a coffee so good we booked a flight to Iceland to brew it and designed a custom Carter in its honor. Huddled for warmth with legendary roaster and professional astrophotographer , we trekked the Icelandic terrain and chased the aurora borealis for our coolest collaboration yet. Literally.
Introducing Northern Lights—a limited edition coffee and Carter combo premiering on Fellow Drops before anywhere else. Available via text on March 29, you must be on our contact list to get the chance to act. First come, first serve. Don’t be left out in the cold.
Astrophotographer? Yeah, that’s Jack. What began as a way purely to document his travels as a touring musician, photography has become his main form of creative expression as professional landscape astrophotographer. His work has been featured by National Geographic, TEDx, LA Times, NASA APOD, BBC, Forbes and many more.
On his often-sleepless journey, he strives to share the wonder of the night sky with as many people as possible. Whether chasing the Milky Way along coast lines or capturing the Northern lights in unforgiving remote locations you’re sure to find him coffee in hand, smiling up at the stars.
Based out of Arkansas, Onyx's accolades in the coffee world outnumber the character limit of this field. For this world premiere, Onyx sourced a celestial coffee that will have you seeing stars. Producer Niguse Gemeda Mude exclusively focuses on natural process coffees and won Ethiopia’s Cup of Excellence in 2020. The low temperatures and high elevation of his farm in the Sidama region allow for an elongated drying time, bringing out more delicate florals and a tarter acidity than your typical natural process.
Origin: Sidama, Ethiopia
Process: Natural
Varietal: Ethiopian Heirloom
Elevation: 1,900 MASL
Tasting Notes: Mandarin orange, honeysuckle, melon, and fruit punch

Travel Log
To test the durability and drinkability of our Carter + 360° Sip Lid, we obviously had to brew at the top of craters, the bottom of waterfalls, and the sides of geysers. Jack documented our epic brew-ventures—pics or it didn’t happen—and taught us about astrophotography along the way.
I brought along two small Panel Pro lights from LumeCube to help shooting video both in the dome and shooting video under the Northern lights. That extra bit of light on the foreground really helps separate the subject from the rest of the scene and allows you to show detail when the available light is otherwise fairly flat. All of that was captured on PNY X-Pro memory cards. These were especially important during moments where I needed to use a faster frame rate in camera.”
